Role and Responsibilities

  • This is a new role working within a new European function and with a recently formed team in Korea. Your mission is to formulate and drive the future direction of Samsung SmartThings within Europe, in doing so the opportunity is to influence the global strategy.

  • We’re looking for a multifaceted and free thinking individual that thrives on exploring new challenges, crafting solutions and has the tenacity to drive team members forward to implementation.

  • This role is the primary GTM lead for Europe. Working with 16 subsidiaries, the central European Marketing and Regional Product teams based in our European Headquarters in Chertsey, HQ in Korea, and partner brands. This will enable you to build a deep comprehension of business operations, shopper experience, in-life customer usage and the requisite unique service solutions to drive the expansion of the SmartThings eco-system and increase customer usage.

  • Your relationship and daily engagement with Samsung HQ in Korea means you will play a pivotal role within the European team. As a cross category service function you will work with the teams managing our 3 core consumer product verticals of (1) Mobile, (2) TV, Monitor, Audio, and (3) Digital Appliances to quickly establish yourself as the go-to-person and point of escalation to unify and constantly enhance the Samsung SmartThings experience.

  • From day 1 you’ll be mapping the customer journey and delivering best in class experiences through meticulous coordination of the SmartThings GTM roadmap. You’ll need to monitor and analyse consumer trends and business performance to generate insights that evolve your thinking and facilitate recommendations to support subsidiaries, guide agencies and develop new consumer experiences and propositions with partner brands. No one day will be the same!

  • Identifying and formulating commercial solutions to drive growth through D2C, B2C, B2B2C, and B2B channels is a key remit to drive future growth. Whilst your focus is consumer, you will also work with B2B colleagues to facilitate the development of a full 360 degree solution.

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Comprehensive GTM and programme/project management experience – ideally in a multi-cultural pan-European organisation.

  • Strong understanding of the omni-channel environment and the ability to implement within the channels.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and proficient in formulating cases and influencing internal and external collaborators at operational and senior levels.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex work streams across a large matrix organisation.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate quantitative and qualitative data sets and distil to clear and concise insights that inform commercially valid proposals.

  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and maintain clarity of thought under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills are required.

  • A comprehension of Smart home solutions and passion for technology would be a distinct advantage.

Skills and Qualifications

What does success look like?

  • Finalised a robust European strategy to inform subsidiaries on the why, when, and how.

  • Formulated proof of concepts through a series of sprints that are validated by the European President and recognised by HQ in Korea as global standard process.

  • Developed a regional playbook to guide subsidiairies in their local execution and ensure consistency across Europe. This will be achieved through your work with external agencies and internal teams.

  • A pipeline of premier customer experiences and propositions developed through your collaboration and negoation with external partner brands and identification of local standard process.

Success will be measured through :

  • An increase in customer awareness of SmartThings.

  • The consistency in execution of SmartThings experiences across European markets.

  • An increase in number of connected devices that are actively used.
