Position Summary
Samsung MX Business in Europe is a $22BN business operating across 6 major product categories; Smartphone, Tablet, Smartwatch, True Wireless, Accessories and NPC! The key objective of this role is to design, coordinate, communicate, execute and evaluate the strategies and action plans to achieve Samsung MX Regional Targets within each of its 17 Subsidiaries.
Role and Responsibilities
Lead a team of regional category managers, coordinate and deliver the European MX Target through the MX Product Plan (Vision, Targets, Strategy, Action Plan, Status, Lifecycle, Competition, Performance Measurement) & GTM Strategy through European subsidiaries and channel partners.
Create an extraordinary Smartphone Category management team, coaching, mentoring and developing the team into an efficient, empowered organisation with clearly defined roles, cadence and structure that becomes greater than the sum of its parts
Develop, communicate, embed, track and handle the MX Product Plan & GTM Strategy across the region
Align, influence, gain consensus and approval with the Suwon, Subsidiaries and ETO leadership teams on the components of the Smartphone Product plan incorporating key strategic direction from Suwon, whilst adding specific regional plans, innovations and action plan
Manage and drive the creation of documentation to communicate the Product Plan, GTM Strategy, Subsidiary Reference Cases (Best Practise), Issue & Opportunity Identification, Business critical metrics and Business Review for Global, Regional & Subsidiary audiences
Deeply understand, interpret and champion Samsung MX, its strategy, product categories, individual products, and global and regional action plan at Global, Regional and Subsidiary Level.
Be the Regional Owner of the Smartphone products. Deeply understand, communicate and champion the product CXPs, product strategy, roadmap. Creating materials, analysis and positioning to drive behaviours and results within the Region and Subsidaries
Intensively analyse key competitor products, activities, commercial strategies, pricing and portfolio strategy and coordinate with Suwon and Subsidiaries to align on actions plans to overcome challenges and maximise the opportunity in the market through responding rapidly
Act as primary peer to peer for Suwon for portfolio management. Working hand in hand to support regular and adhoc analysis and reporting. Make recommendations for regional portfolio selection including devices/storage/spec and pricing
Lead the team to drive local first behaviours through building deep understanding of each local subsidaries markets, strategies, performance and most importantly people. Create strong relationships with subsidaries at all levels through regular face to face engagement in the field
Use local > cluster > region knowledge, strategy and analysis to spot trends and opportunities
Be responsible for the relationships with sales management and product management within each Subsidiary. Acting as their primary point of contact and escalation for ETO, providing motivation and support to deliver the Product Plan and execute key initiatives.
Work with EO CMI Team to set out priorities for insight gathering and marketing performance. Integrate analysis to evolve the Product Plan
Own the RRP setting process, investment and commercial guidelines; and align with Subsidiaries
