Your role at a glance

Would you like the opportunity to start your Procurement career working in a FTSE 100 business?

If you are a driven, curious, and data driven induvial, with an excellent attention to detail, and an interest in Procurement, then this is a fantastic opportunity to join our Procurement function as a Tactical Sourcing Analyst.

This is an exciting and entry level into Procurement, where you'll have the opportunity to support the Sourcing team with a variety of tasks. You'll be undertaking tactical sourcing activities on behalf of the company, which could involve assisting the sourcing specialist and managers with reviews, data, documentations, analysing pipelines and datasets, and getting involved in deals and contract negotiation.

You'll have lots of development opportunity in this role as you'll work different tasks that can help you explore the different aspects of Procurement with a business. This role is perfect for someone that has a strong interest and passion to start a career in Procurement, and you'll be join a highly skilled and experienced team that can provide support and guidance.

What you'll be doing

  • Review and assess sourcing requests and define sourcing approach based on the value and risk in accordance with policies and process
  • Undertake spend analysis and evaluation with a view to identifying anomalous spend and potential opportunities in line with Group strategy
  • Planning and execution of allocated sourcing activities as required, ensuring they are in accordance with policies and practices
  • Producing project reports and other MI, in a timely and accurate manner, as required
  • Ensuring records are kept in accordance with requirements and expectations including but not limited to contract and supplier records, maintenance of the pipeline and capturing of validated savings and benefits
  • Initial point of contact for new procurement enquiries and ensuring demand is captured appropriately, providing prompt, professional and courteous support to “how do I” enquiries from internal stakeholders
  • Carry out all Sourcing activity in line with the company’s Consumer Duty accountability

Qualifications

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role you'll need a genuine interest in Procurement, with a desire to start a career in this exciting area of the business. You'll need to be curious, adaptable, and pro-active, as you take ownership of a variety of tasks that will support the team. Being personable, with the ability to build relationships, are key requirements for this role as your work with a variety of people across the team and wider business. 

Here's some of the experience that we'd love to see:

  • Experience managing a variety of tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience and ability to prioritise busy workload, work to deadlines and ability to be flexible in a continuously changing environment
  • Data analysis experience and skills would be highly advantageous.
  • A good level of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential.
  • You'll have the ability to deal confidently with issues that arise and resolve or escalate as appropriate.  Seek proactive resolution and continuously suggest ways to improve existing processes and procedures
  • Experience in Procurement, sourcing systems, and administrative practices would be desirable.
