Job Description

We are currently recruiting an AML Control Analyst to join our team. 

The AML Control Team is 1st line team responsible for the verification of new and existing clients for Anti Money Laundering purposes, in addition to the performance of periodic reviews, transaction monitoring and investigation of PEP, Sanction and Adverse Media screening alerts.

In this role, you will be a first line AML SME to provide 1st line AML capabilities to a selection of LGIM’s businesses.

What you'll be doing

  • Completing AML tasks (within defined SLA) including:
    • Reviewing AML/KYC Due Diligence on a range of clients with different legal structures and in various jurisdictions
    • Assessing client files that require enhanced due diligence or have associated political exposed person (PEPs), adverse information, sanctions and any other factors
    • Monitoring for any material changes that may impact the risk status of clients
    • Regular monitoring of client activity against profile to identify suspicious activity.
    • Overseeing AML Control team to ensure that all KYC checks are complete and evidenced in accordance with the AML policy and procedures and other relevant regulations
  • Acting as point of escalation for first line stakeholders on KYC matters.
  • Maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders in both 1st (onboarding and client teams both in LGIM and with third party fund administrators) and 2nd lines of defence (LGIM Financial Crime)
  • Producing clear and to-the-point management information for various groups, committees and team meetings as required. 
  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of relevant rules and legislation, and ensure AML Control Team meet any new regulatory requirements as defined by LGIM Financial Crime.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • Relevant Industry Recognised AML qualification e.g. ICA International AML Diploma; Advanced Certificate in CDD; ACAMS.
  • Good analytical skills and industry awareness including of emerging regulation.
  • A good understanding of UK regulation preferably with exposure to the onboarding of clients into pension and investment related products.
  • Ideally some knowledge of other European jurisdictions, for example, Ireland and Luxembourg.
  • A demonstrable understanding of corporate structures and the ability to apply appropriate KYC/CDD requirements in line with LGIM policy for direct clients and related/associated parties
  • AML/KYC Financial Services Industry experience gained in an Operational KYC/AML Team, ideally within Asset Management environment.
  • Experience of AML Operations activities within, ideally Asset Management industry in a 1st Line (1LOD) capacity, together with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to fast pace changing circumstances in order to ensure a smooth efficient operation. Accuracy and a methodical approach are essential.
  • Ability to work with other compliance teams and business colleagues to promote a good conduct risk and compliance culture so that regulatory expectations are exceeded
  • Excellent time management skills and able to prioritize workloads to meet agreed deadlines
