Job Description

Your role at a glance

 

The job holder will be responsible for supporting Commercial Finance activities across LGIM (Legal and General Investment Management). The role holder will play a key role in supporting Business Partnering to LGIM executives. They will build strong relationships with their business areas, assisting them to achieve their financial performance targets. Within Finance they will be seen as the subject matter expert for their business area and will work closely with other teams to oversee the delivery of core finance processes such as monthly reporting, planning/forecasting, analysing/reporting on the finances of LGIM. 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • You will provide oversight and control of the expense base, including review, challenge and approval of new and existing spend. Supporting the business to identify and track efficiencies across the cost base.
  • You will deliver business intelligence and decision support through analytics and critical thinking. Ensure the production of high-quality MI and reporting across LGIM Finance teams, including board reporting, regular MI and ad hoc reporting for senior executives.
  • You will provide insight, advice and analysis relating to the financial performance of the business including review, challenge and interpretation of all material variances against plan, forecast or prior year. Ensuring that key LGIM stakeholders have a full understanding of the value drivers and the financial position. This will cover all key financial metrics across Flows, AUM, Revenue and Expenses and will require effective presentation and data visualisation.
  • You will deliver forecasting and planning through collaboration with other LGIM Finance teams, working with the business to coordinate inputs, and challenging outputs across all areas i.e. expenses, resourcing, revenue, flows and AUM.
  • You will provide financial analysis on business opportunities, working closely with business owners to influence decision making, in areas such as cost saving initiatives, new products launches and deep dive review of business lines.
  • You will produce financial business cases and embed ongoing tracking, including benefit realisation, for new change initiatives such as organic growth or M&A activity.
  • You will support the Senior Finance Manager and Commercial Finance Director across reporting and operational functions.
  • You will perform ad-hoc analysis and review of areas of financial and commercial focus for the division.
  • You will provide coaching and support development of finance senior analysts

 

Qualifications

  • Any of the following professional qualifications: ACMA, ACA, CFA, ACCA, CIMA, CA
  • Finance business partnering experience or FP&A role
  • Strong Analysis skills.
  • Strong Presentational skills.
  • Financial Modelling experience.
  • Strong business acumen, Commercial awareness, self-starter, good oral and written communication skills, quick learning, clarity of thinking, relationship building skills, ability to deliver under pressure and provide informed responses in short timeframes.
