Your role at a glance

Would you like to the opportunity to work in an emerging Procurement Operations team in a FTSE 100 business? 

If you have a working knowledge of Procurement, a high level of customer service, and experience with systems, data, and reporting, then this is fantastic opportunity to join our Procurement Operations team as an Operational Procurement Specialist. 

In this exciting new role, you’ll support the operations and systems supporting the procurement team and business buying activities across the group are effectively supported and operated in line with needs, policy, risk appetites and regulation. This will include ensuring a positive customer experience by executing support and tasks to a high quality and at the right time. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join an emerging area of the Procurement function, with the aim of creating a first-class support desk that provides support to the business throughout the PO process. The role is full of variety and offers a great career path. You’ll get a greater breadth of understanding of how internal and external procurements processes work and will have the chance to work with a variety of different business areas offering supporting, coaching, and guidance. It’s an autonomous working environment where you’ll be given lots of ownership to really make an impact. 

What you'll be doing

  • Deliver best-in-class procurement process support to deliver maximum benefit to users and ensure they are operating within the risk guidelines of Legal & General  

  • Support internal adoption and compliance of processes, standards and best practices through effective change management and day to day engagement to ensure a consistent service offering and positive customer experience 

  • Ensure data is accurately and timely captured in relevant systems to ensure data integrity  

  • Identify continuous improvement in the technology infrastructure and process to make the process more efficient. 

  • Support the Group Procurement team in the creation and maintenance of centralised reporting and presentation materials. Proactively support and work with Accounts Payable team to ensure a robust and highly efficient and effective P2P process with best-in-class PO exceptions and PO penetration  

  • Operate operational procurement processes supporting users and procurement, identifying issues and solutions to guide business users through the purchase order and ordering process in line with company requirements. 

  • In all situations where suppliers provide goods and services directly to our external customers, ensure that procurement activity and supplier relationships are managed in line with Legal & General’s Consumer Duty commitments. 

Qualifications

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role you’ll need a high level of customer service skills, including good written and verbal communication, and the ability to adapt as you work with a variety of people across the business. You’ll need resilience, sympathy, empathy, and the ability to go above and beyond, as well as a passionate for providing first class customer service. 

Here’s some of the experience that we’d love to see: 

  • Digital skills and awareness of Procurement / SRM or similar business type processes, either gained through experience or through a CIPS qualification. 

  • A high level of customer service is essential for this role. 

  • IT literate with previous experience using software tools to create, analyse and produce required reporting and spend analytics. 

  • Business Operations experience with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
