The opportunity:
The Finance Manager will report to the Finance Director and oversee the day to day management of the Finance team ensuring that the finance function is well organised, operates efficiently and in line with best practice. This role requires a newly qualified or nearly qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) professional with previous financial control and management reporting experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•To prepare the group's month end management accounts reporting pack to a high standard and within a strict month end timetable
•To apply, monitor and audit the group's accounting policies and procedures across group businesses
•To ensure that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
•To prepare investor reporting information each quarter within agreed timetable
•To assist with the development of KPI reporting within the group's businesses
•To pro-actively manage group's daily cash position to ensure that the group can meet its cash-flow plan and to keep FD informed at all times
•To pro-actively manage supplier credit terms for the benefit of the group within this fast growing business
•To co-ordinate and manage the budgeting process and prepare the group's budget to an agreed timetable
•To co-ordinate and manage the reforecasting process and prepare the group's reforecast financial plan to agreed timetable
•To co-ordinate and manage the year end audit process and the preparation of year-end financial statements for each entity within the group
•To ensure that the group's tax reporting and compliance requirements are met
•To work with the FD with ad hoc projects as and when required
•To work with the FD to update computer systems and processes within the group when required
•To act as the main point of contact within the finance team for other divisions and teams across the group
•To act as the main point of contact within the finance team for our external advisors, auditors and suppliers
•To manage, develop and train the finance team members to achieve individual and team objectives
•To work with the FD to develop the finance team to deliver a high standard of service to the shareholders, directors, senior managers and teams across the group
•To assist with SST and VAT monthly reporting for group companies
•Assist with managing the administration function on the offline business division
Skills / Qualifications:
•Newly qualified or near qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with previous transferable experience
•Previous management of a small team
•A confident and professional self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic and fast growing and changing business
•You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, solid and logical decision making and have a hands-on approach
•Experience in the commercial sector would be an advantage especially having exposure to a retail environment, logistics, warehousing, importing and exporting of products, customs / duty, distribution, foreign exchange, working capital lines for credit and cash-flow management
•Experience of working with multi-location business environment would be an advantage
•Experience and good working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS would be an advantage
•Computer literate with intermediate or advanced excel skills
