Overview: We are seeking a passionate in-person GCSE Science Tutor with expertise in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to join our team in North London. This role is ideal for a knowledgeable tutor who can provide specialised support to students preparing for their GCSE Science exams, helping them build confidence, strengthen their subject knowledge, and achieve top results.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver in-person tutoring sessions for GCSE Science students in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at various locations in North London.
• Adapt teaching methods to address each student’s unique learning style and focus on areas needing improvement.
• Develop personalised lesson plans aligned with the GCSE Science curriculum, covering key concepts and exam strategies.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching techniques to maximize academic success.
• Provide detailed feedback to students and parents on performance and growth areas.
• Foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere, motivating students to participate actively and develop a passion for Science.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year tutoring experience in GCSE Science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
• Strong academic background with top grades in Science subjects at GCSE, A-Level, or university.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex scientific concepts for students.
• Patience, empathy, and flexibility to meet diverse learning needs.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Science field is preferred, but undergraduates currently completing a degree are also welcome to apply.
Further Requirements:
• A genuine passion for teaching and helping students succeed in Science.
• Ability to provide thorough identity checks and references (all our tutors are DBS approved).
• Ability to provide two references, which can be from former lecturers, employers, or former clients.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Freelance, Graduate
Pay: £20.00-£35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 8 per week
